Finding the right nursing home in Kuching

For families choosing care for a parent in Kuching: the monthly cost, nursing home or assisted living, and what each of the eight options offers.

How much does a nursing home in Kuching cost?

A nursing home in Kuching costs about RM1,500 to RM9,000 a month at 2026 Malaysian market rates, depending on the room and the nursing needed. Extras for a resident needing moderate care add RM800 to RM2,500. Few Kuching homes publish a price, so these are market ranges.

Medicines managed and some physiotherapy, in a shared or single room. That is the market range, RM3,000 to RM5,000, plus the usual extras.

Over a year: about RM45,600 to RM90,000.

The extras are the usual range for a resident needing moderate care. Outside the Klang Valley, fees tend to sit at the lower end of each band. Use the estimate to check a quote against the market.

To see what a monthly fee covers in practice, book a tour of Care Collective and ask for a written quote.

What is the difference between a nursing home and assisted living?

In Kuching, a nursing home and assisted living usually mean the same kind of place. Both are residences where staff help with daily life and add clinical care as needs grow. Few places offer only one or the other, so the name on the signboard tells you little.

Providers use these names loosely, so ask each one what help is on site and who is there overnight.

Which nursing homes are there in Kuching?

Each publishes enough about itself to profile, and they are listed alphabetically. Care Collective is the eighth, in its own section after them.

Who offers what you need

Besides stay-in care, what else is needed?

All seven offer stay-in care with nursing. Pick a need to see who says they offer it too.

We counted what each provider's own website says it offers at its home or centre, and left out home visits. Not stated means the site does not say, so ask.
